Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using WattSwitch ("the Service"), operated by WattSwitch Pty Ltd ABN [pending] ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Not Financial, Tax, or Investment Advice

WattSwitch does not provide financial advice, tax advice, investment advice, or personal financial product advice within the meaning of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).

We do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and are not authorised to provide financial product advice. The Service provides general information and estimates only. Nothing on this website should be construed as a recommendation to purchase, invest in, or commit to any particular product, service, or financial decision.

All cost estimates, savings projections, payback periods, and return-on-investment figures displayed by the Service are indicative approximations based on publicly available data, standard industry assumptions, and the information you provide. They are not guarantees of future financial outcomes.

Before making any financial decisions based on information from WattSwitch, you should seek independent professional advice from a qualified financial adviser, accountant, or other appropriately licensed professional who can consider your individual circumstances.

3. Nature of the Service

WattSwitch is an informational tool that generates estimated energy savings based on user-provided inputs and publicly available data. The Service:

  • Provides general information only, not personal advice tailored to your financial situation, objectives, or needs
  • Uses estimates and approximations that may differ significantly from actual costs, savings, and outcomes
  • Relies on third-party data sources (government datasets, industry pricing indices, published rebate information) that may contain errors, be outdated, or change without notice
  • Does not account for all variables that affect real-world energy costs, including but not limited to: tariff changes, usage pattern variations, equipment degradation, installation quality, site-specific conditions, and regulatory changes

4. Rebate and Incentive Information

Information about government rebates, incentives, and schemes (including Small-scale Technology Certificates, state rebate programs, and other incentives) is provided as a guide only. Rebate programs are subject to change, may have eligibility criteria not captured by our calculator, and may be modified or discontinued at any time by the relevant government authority.

You must verify all rebate information directly with the relevant government program or scheme administrator before making any purchasing or installation decisions. We do not guarantee the availability, amount, or eligibility of any rebate or incentive.

5. Equipment Pricing and Cost Estimates

All equipment pricing shown is based on market averages sourced from published industry data and price indices. Actual prices you receive from installers may differ materially due to:

  • Regional pricing variations
  • Equipment brand and model selection
  • Installation complexity and site-specific requirements
  • Market conditions and supply chain factors
  • Installer-specific pricing and margins

Always obtain multiple written quotes from licensed professionals before committing to any upgrade.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WattSwitch and its directors, officers, employees, and agents exclude all liability for any loss, damage, cost, or expense (whether direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise) arising from or in connection with:

  • Your use of, or reliance on, any information provided by the Service
  • Any decisions you make based on the estimates, projections, or recommendations generated by the Service
  • Inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in the data, calculations, or information provided
  • Any difference between estimated and actual costs, savings, payback periods, or other financial outcomes
  • Changes to government rebate programs, electricity tariffs, or market conditions
  • The quality, performance, or suitability of any equipment or services provided by third-party installers

7. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement. To the extent that our liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you is limited to the amount of $100 or the amount you paid for the Service (whichever is greater).

8. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, government programs, and installer services. We do not control, endorse, or accept responsibility for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party website or service.

When you request quotes through WattSwitch, we share your contact information with selected installers as described in our Privacy Policy. Your dealings with installers are solely between you and the installer. We are not a party to any agreement you enter into with an installer and accept no liability for their products, services, or conduct.

9. Accuracy of Information You Provide

The accuracy of results generated by the Service depends on the information you provide. You are responsible for ensuring that the data you enter (postcode, energy bills, home details, etc.) is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Inaccurate inputs will produce inaccurate estimates.

10. Intellectual Property

All content, data, design, and code comprising the Service is owned by or licensed to WattSwitch and is protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You must not reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Australia and the State of South Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia for any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service.
